1969 Chevelle
The 1969 Chevelle changed very little with few styling changes from the 1968 Chevelle. The front grill in the 1969 Chevelle was changed slightly with the dividing bar lowered and centered in the grill. The tail lights were also changed from the 68 model. In 1969 a total of 439,611 Chevelle were produced, and out of that 439,611 only 86,307 of them were 1969 Chevelle Super Sport 396′s. The standard Chevrolet 396 ci engine was the 325 horse version, but like all the previous years there were also two other 396 ci engines available, the 360 horsepower version, and the L78 396 ci engine that produced a neck snapping 375 horsepower.
Also in 1969 the Chevelle came in three trim packages, they were the 69 Chevelle 300 Deluxe, 69 Chevelle 300 Deluxe Sport Coupe, and the 69 Chevelle Malibu. New for the 1969 Chevelle, the Super Sport option was no longer a separate body style, but a seperate option that could be ordered with any Chevelle.

69 COPO Chevelle / 69 Yenko Chevelle
One of the most famous and rare Chevelles was the 1969 COPO Chevelle, it was created by Chevrolet in conjunction with COPO and a few selected dealers, installed a massive 425 bhp / 427 cid motor (L72) for approximately 323 favorable customers. The 69 COPO Chevelle was a powerful machine either on the strip or the street. In stock trim right off the factory floor these cars were able to cover the quarter mile in 13.3 seconds at 108 mph.
Many people believe that Don Yenko was behind the creation of the COPO Chevelle option. This allowed his SYC promotion of the S/C Chevelles without his dealership having to do the time-consuming and expensive engine swaps. After Don Yenko received one of these factory installed 427 COPO Chevelle all he had to do to turn it into a Yenko S/C car was added distinctive custom side and hood striping, along with the 427 and crest emblems. Out of all 323 COPO Chevelle that were built 99 of them were sent to Don Yenko at his Canonsburg, Pennsylvania dealership to be transformed into a Yenko S/C Chevelle
