Best Of Show Candy Apple Red 57 Chevy Bel Air

This is one 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air that I wish I was able to get my hands on better pictures. This award winning candy apple red 57 Chevy Bel Air has over 32 Best of Show Awards and numerous 1st place awards. This car has also been featured in the 2006 Snap-On Tools Calender for the month of December.
This gorgeous 1957 Chevy was completely taken apart and went through a 3 year frame off restoration. Wile the body was off of the frame it was stripped down to bare metal, primed, and then it received 5 coats of PPG Candy Apple Red paint with 7 coats of clear. While all of this was going on the frame and drive train were getting a little TLC as well. With new 2 inch drop spindles added in the front along with 4 wheel disk brakes at each corner.
With a car that looks this good and that has had as much time and money put into as this 57 Chevy has, it is hard telling what is lurking under the hood. Well this little beauty is hiding a custom built 421 cubic inch small block Chevy that makes 600+ horsepower, and is able to run on E85, gasoline, or methanol. With such goodies inside of this 421 stroker as an Eagle 4340 forged crank, C/P forged flat top pistons with a 10.5:1 compression, all topped off with Dart Pro230 Platinum cylinder heads, a Dart single plane intake, and a Holley 950 HP E85 Carburetor.
When all 600+ horsepower leaves this motor it is passed through a custom built Turbo 400 transmission with a manual valve body, a 3000 stall converter, and 12 bolt Chevy differential with 4.11 gears. Finishing off the drive train and putting the rubber to the road is a set of Foose Nitro wheels 17 X 8 in the front and 18 X 10 in the rear all wrapped in Nitto tires.
